So I’m still being anti-productive. For New Years, I bought myself a massive amount of games [most of which I’ve yet to play, but I’ll get around to them eventually]. Anyway, one of the games I bought in particular is Neverwinter Nights 2: Platinum [a version of the game which is no longer sold/easy to find] and it’s been eating away my life almost as much as Skyrim would if I could play it without lag on my poor, poor Asus. The single player “campaigns” for this game are pretty good, though I absolutely must point out that when you start out, the key-bindings and settings in general are atrocious. After even five minutes playing this game I had to go in and mess around with every single setting until the lag stopped, and I could walk without running into walls or turning in circles. The controls are evil, but the redeeming point of this is that you can reset them to something more comfortable to you.
Since I started playing though, I’ve played on two servers total. Due to my preference, both of these are Persistent World Roleplay Servers. I find these servers to be very entertaining over all and the community is usually quite good. The most recent one I join is called Shards of Vael. It’s a “custom lore” server and so it leaves plenty of room for creativity, where as the previous server I played was a Forgotten Realms setting where all the lore and all the history is rather set in stone and fitting your character’s back story in such a perfectly built setting that is so completely set in stone is rather hard unless you know everything already. Shards of Vael is a very welcoming server and the DMs are always looking to help or run events. This server is probably the largest I’ve ever seen in that it actually consists of three whole servers. Each server has a population maximum of 96 and represents a separate part of the world of Tyvaren. There’s plenty of room to roam in and play around. There are many different places for hunting and so much trouble for your character to get up to.
This is the sort of server with very few limits and there’s always room for new players. Check it out by clicking the link below.
